Professor Jennifer Shea Wins Award for Service Learning

ImageDr. Jennifer Shea was recently selected to receive the university’s Faculty Award for Outstanding Community Service Learning.  The annual award recognizes one faculty member who has significantly integrated service learning into coursework, providing students with hands-on experiences in public service.  Dr. Shea developed and implemented the first community service learning course in the MPA program, and one of the first and few CSL courses in all graduate programs in the university.  Her Organizational Learning and Nonprofit Management course, PA 746, matches MPA students with local nonprofits in consultant-client projects that are implemented over the semester.   The course will next be offered in fall 2015.
