MPA Student Wins SFSU Campus-level of the CSU Student Research Competition

nuniCongratulations go to MPA student Melanie Nuni, who won the SFSU campus-level of the CSU Student Research Competition in the category of Business, Economics, and Public Administration! She will now represent SFSU and the MPA program at the statewide competition on May 1-2 at CSU San Bernardino. Her research, titled “A crime prevention strategy that works,” evaluates the efficacy of Oakland’s Security Ambassador Program on reducing crime. The project was produced in her research methods coursework, and informs her work as a Senior Performance Auditor with the City of Oakland. Melanie extends a long record of award-winning empirical research coming from our MPA students. Past winners include recent alumni Eduardo Blount, Chris Rosenlund, Adam Sharma and Marc Joffe.
